So, I was reading another thread and there was discussion of how important weir doors are, and I've never had one since we bought this house and pool a number of years ago. The skimmer cover is long gone and there are no identifying marks I can find anywhere on the skimmer. There are two pegs sticking out for the weir door, as you can see in the pictures. The opening is 8 and 1/16 inches wide and 6 1/8 inches tall. Attached are a few pictures of the skimmer. I'd love to figure out what weir door would work for me, as the skimmer has always been troublesome. Thanks.

For your particular situation I would use a universal spring loaded weir door.

I had seen those mentioned elsewhere. I see they have an 8 inch listed. For sizing, would I got with the 8 inch or one of the slightly smaller ones, given my opening is just over 8 inches? Thanks.

Universal weir doors are usually trim-to-fit. If it's too big, you can use a bandsaw or hack-saw to trim.
