eBay 50lb bucket worth it?

I used to get the cal hypo from Walmart, but it looks like this 50 lb bucket is unstabilized (good) and a significantly better deal! Confirm/deny?

Math looks reasonable.
You will need to monitor your rising Calcium levels to avoid scaling.
Granted in your location you likely get a fair amount of rain in the short season and drain off a good bit of the pool for the winter, so the CH rise may not be a problem.

Are you setting and monitoring your CYA level and then maintaining the proper FC level for it? FC/CYA Levels

I'm SLAMing right now. Total CYA added was 40, but level was only 25 shortly after addition. I think it takes a bit to dissolve. Trying to keep FC at 12. Will test CYA tomorrow.

Also note that cal-hypo can sometimes make the water cloudy, especially when the pH is higher I think.

Hmmm, really? That's what I love about the LC. It makes the water sparkling. I've never had a visitor say "your water is cloudy, is it safe to swim?" on liquid chlorine.
