It has been years since I’ve posted! TFP helped me keep things running perfectly for years. I was wondering if you all can diagnose my brand new issue with my Pentair Easy Touch Panel. It’s working fine in auto mode, however when I switched it to service mode, set my filter to backwash, then pressed the filter button to flush the filter, it made a clicking noise. Works fine again in auto mode. Any ideas what’s up? Thanks

Mom,

I doubt anything is wrong, you just don't know how to use the Service mode...

In theory, the Service mode shuts off the automation and allows you to use the pump's control panel to run the pump.

In your case, when you initially go into the Service mode, it shuts off the pump and turns off the Pump/Filter relay. When you push the "F" button the click you hear is the Pump/Filter relay closing. Maybe the relay is a little louder than it was before.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Sorry I probably didn’t explain very well. It clicks repeatedly and the pump won’t operate to flush the filter. I’ve backwashed the filter many times and this has never happened.

Mom,

If the Pool or Spa circuit is NOT scheduled to run then when you push the "F" button I am not sure that it will turn on the pump...

I can't think of it being anything else.

Thanks,

Jim R.
