Drain free acid wash

We have a brand new pool with a very dark blue plaster color. The plaster had streaks and discoloration so our builder did an acid wash with Muratic acid. The plaster color looks amazing, but there is now a fine, milky dust that I can’t seem to get out. We put in some super floc to get the dust to settle so it could be vacuumed, but after several days of vacuuming it doesn’t seem like we’re making any progress.

Looking for advice.

I have a Pentair Triton II TR-140. The pump system was turned off when the floc was applied and then vacuumed in waste mode. Once the water level fell too low to vacuum we would refill and repeat. This was done over several days, but now we’re down the last remaining particles and having a hard time getting it out.

You are now dependent on your filter. We don’t know if the floc gummed your filter up. You can try adding a cup of pool grade DE to your skimmer to improve the sand filter performance. It may or may not help.

You may need to deep clean or replace your sand after you are done.

We don’t recommend using floc. Especially for sand filters, because of the situation you find yourself in.
