I've searched and searched. Online and in the book. I can't seem to figure out what these do exactly. I vaguely remember reading about them when I got it two years ago. Can anyone tell me the point of sliding them out when in operation? I think something about scrubbing walls?

They serve as "adjustments" to help control degree of wall climbing...but I can't recall which position means which. If it goes where you want, leave it. Otherwise experiment with eft and right slide out until it goes the way you want
