Does this look ok? Shotcrete around spa is bulging as forms didn’t hold.

Hi there,
The forms around the spa didn’t hold very well when they sprayed the shotcrete. The pool builder said they will fix it before tiling by building it out, but then wouldn’t all three sides need to be built out so it’s even? There is bulging on all three sides. The side closest to the house is the worst. On the other two sides the part in the pool is nice and straight and then it gets sloppy towards the stairs and sunshelf.

Thoughts?

Thanks so much!

Depends on the style and size of coping you put on top of the walls. The wall thickness will not be visible but it will look awkward is the coping is not the same size on top of all the walls.

The coping is 12x24 travertine. The top of the spa walls/shotcrete is about 10” right now.

So the approximate 2" overhang of the travertine will hide the uneven thickness of the walls.

Will they put the overhang on the inside or the outside of the spa?

You don't want the overhang on the inside of the spa where it will hit your head as you sit and lean back.
