Does new filter cause foam?

I replaced my Hayward DE-3600 Filter with new DE-4820 and while I was adding DE for the first time, foam came out of the returns. I never had foam before, and the filter is the only thing I replaced. is this expected?

Is the foam continuing to come out of returns or was it a one time thing that stopped after a while?

Also might check ch levels. Low ch can cause foaming.

It was a one time thing....stopped after about 20-30 seconds.
