Does a hybrid filter need backwash?

Do you still need to backwash with the hybrid de/cartridge filter?

I believe you can backwash them, but I have given up on backwashing my DE filters and just treat them like standard cartridge filters. My normal filter pressure is about 2 lbs... Because of this, I tear them down and clean the filters twice a year. In the Spring before pool season, and in the Fall after pool season. When it is warm enough to get wet...

I found that backwashing does not get rid of all the old DE and you need to open them once or twice a year anyway.
