CYA Test

1. Not
2. Once 3 or 4 days after you start
3. Sort of, there is a guess, here is what Richard320 took a swag at here, Extended OTO color comparator?
Blinding yellow is about 10. School bus yellow is about 12-13. Hunter orange is around 18, up around 25 it starts to look pumpkin orange. I never went any higher than that, but it's been reliably reported that it eventually will turn brown if you get high enough.

Heather,

We do not believe in having anything tested in a place that is trying to sell you chemicals..

That is why we recommend you test your own pool water with either the TF100 or Taylor K-206C. These are the two test kits we use ourselves and this gives us the ability to compare apples to apples.

These kits contain CYA tests and have the ability to test FC up to 50 ppm.

You cannot slam if you can't test you FC level well above 5 ppm.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Sounds like you need to invest in one of the FAS-DPD chlorine tests if you are going to have to follow the SLAM process.

Do not even bother with pool store testing. Will cause you more harm than good.

That will work, although you will likely run out of the FAS-DPD and CYA reagents very quickly. This is why I generally recommend the TF-100 from tftestkits.net which is a better deal for what you get.
