Cracked grout after 1 year

We renovated our pool a year ago and are noticing a lot of cracked / missing grout in the waterline tiles. The pool company already came out once to fix some of the areas that had gaps / missing grout. But now we are seeing a lot more tiles that have pieces of grout missing. I know this can’t be normal. They are coming tomorrow to look at it and fix the grout. But I‘m concerned that their “fix” will only be temporary. Is there anything specific I should ask them to do or use? I believe they used just regular grout. Just looked at quote and it states "acrylic modified sanded grout".

Just very frustrating as our pool is leaking and we just want to get it identified and corrected properly.

Appreciate any advice!

I can't comment on the quality of the grout originally used but I do observe that those thin grout lines are harder to fill then 1/8" to 1/4" gaps.

I think you will end up needing to do annual maintenance on your grout and touch up worn grout.
