Copper ground wire - need to cover during winter?

Weird question. I removed the pool pump from our above ground pool for the winter, but still have the copper wire sticking out of the ground near the pump. Does that wire need to be covered up or protected at all through the winter months, or can it survive being buried in snow?

Thanks in advance!

The bare copper bonding wire is fine leaving it on the ground. But don't let it get buried where you lose it. Secure it to something so you know where it is to reattach it.
