I got this nifty little digital scale from Amazon for weighing out chemicals. It has a cover which doubles as a weighing tray, and measures up to 2 lbs (1000 grams). I'm going to put mine in a ziploc bag and let him live in my poolside bin.

I don't think we really need to be that precise, but I have a set of weights already. I intend to check 250, 500 and 1000 gmperiodically.
