Cold water swg still running

Good afternoon, Just have a quick question. Our air temp is 30 and the pool is 47, pool is running in freeze mode. The ic40 is still running although it says low salt (cold water). I disabled It in settings but it stayed on. We don’t have a spa but it was listed as 1/2. I don’t know why the builder set it is as with a spa. They said when we adjust the chlorine level always put the pool % where we want it and change the spa to 0%. We do have bubblers and deck jets. So my question is, do I need to worry about the ic40 staying on and not going into cold water mode? It’s 5 years old.
thank you for the help!

Sounds like the temperature sensor in the flow switch of the IC40 is malfunctioning.

The Wiki has information how to display the cell water temperature and how to replace the flow switch assembly, or replace the temperature sensor with a separate sensor.

I would disconnect the cell from the Power Center until things warm up and you can do some troubleshooting on the cell.

Hey Jim,
The cold water light isn’t coming on. It says low salt but still has green lights on for flow and the percentage production. The pump is running in freeze mode. Pool temp is down to 45 now.
I looked at what ajw sent (thanks for that ajw22) but am not real comfortable trying much along those lines until it’s much more comfortable outside. I may have to assume this cell is toast and have a new one put on in spring.
Thank you!

Don't replace a perfectly good cell.

The flow switch/temperature sensor assembly can be replaced in your cell.

Blue,

Is your SWCG controlled by an EasyTouch or other automation system? If so, you can't adjust it at the cell itself, you have to do using the automation.

If not, as you get below 10% all the output lights will flash, just to let you know you are less than 10%. Keep going, and all the light should shut off.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Hey Jim, thank you for the help. Yes, it has the box on the wall, I think it’s the easy touch. I put it at zero on the wall system and all the percentage lights on the cell started flashing green. I watched them for a minute or so and they kept flashing so I moved it back to 20% so they would stop. I can try it again tomorrow and just let it go a while and see if it will stop eventually. I really thought disabling it would work but didn’t.
