The test results I posted were from the local pool store. I do have the DPD test kit but as I said I want to the local store for more accurate readings. This morning pool is looking better but still cloudy. My from my DPD test kit this morning were FC - 3 and TC -5 so I think I still have more shocking to do...do you agree? I've been using 4 lbs and have done that 3 times over the past 48 hours. Do I need to increase amount of CHL I'm shocking with? Thanks for the note on the liquid CHL. I was always wondering why people used it. Why have I heard this group take about Clorox? That isn't the same as Liq CHL is it?

The pool store is not more accurate than you. Get a good test kit and do your own testing. You'll be much better off.

With a CC of 2 ppm you certainly need to perform the shock process. If you're not familiar with the correct procedure, read how to do it in Pool School and follow the instructions.

Clorox, bleach, sodium hypochlorite; it's all the same just may be different concentrations. Use the Pool calculator to figure out how much to add after testing.

The amount of FC you want to reach is dependent on the CYA. And pool stores are notoriously bad at getting the CYA right or even close.

A good test kit will give you far better results than you'll get at a pool store.
