Cleaned my filter today but didn't need to

The 6 month reminder kept popping up on my To-Do list, so after putting it off for a couple of weeks, today I cleaned my Pentair 520's cartridges. Turns out I didn't need to. All that came out was about 1/4 cup of sand and 5 or 6 bugs.

One day I hope to graduate to a larger filter. I'm still running my original single cart.
Bigger is generally better, especially with my size pool. I upgraded from the 420 to the 520 when I remodeled my pool last year. I would not recommend the 520 for your size pool. The 4 individual cartridges are big and they're heavy when waterlogged, so it's a pain if you have to carry them any distance to hose off. The 420's carts are quite a bit lighter and easier to handle.

Changed my nets today! Are you still backwashing regularly, or delaying that as well? I'm not seeing my PSI change much AT ALL, and it's been 45 days since filter clean.

My filter uses cartridges, so no backwashing. I have to disassemble the filter, remove the cartridges, hose them off, then reassemble the filter. It's not fun, but the only difficult part is getting the belt clamp back on and uniformly tight enough to prevent drips. That part is easier with 2 people.

My filter pressure never rises. Ever. In normal operation, it shows 8 PSI at 1850 RPM.
