chlorine levels and robots

I got a new Maytronics robot this year and I opened my pool today. they put in 9 gallons of chlorine (not sure why) and my FC is 25! anyway, I read that I can only use the robot in max 4 FC - I mean, I have to keep mine around 6 usually because I have an SWG. I assume that is ok, but is it ok to put it in at 25? I really need it, I have a lot of trees!

Swimming is safe for people and robots above minimum and up to Slam per the FC/CYA Levels. The industry treats CYA and FC as independant values.

Again, the FC/CYA Levels chart is your friend. I think you are fine, if your FC/CYA are in concert up to SLAM levels.

Ok so I don’t have any CYA but I’m adding now. So once it’s safe to swim it’s safe for the robot? Thanks! Does water temp matter?

No. FC/CYA Levels only up to SLAM levels.
