I'm still fairly new at this. I took samples to the pool store for the first few weeks and now have purchased the test kits recommended by this site.

I'm having some difficulty with keeping my pH down and my chlorine stable. I currently have my SWG set on 50% (after a very low chlorine reading last week) and my filter is running 9.5 hrs per day.

My tests results are:

Chlorine 6.5
Alkalinity 120
pH 8
CYA 60

Whats ny best course of action.

Thank you!

What kind of pool do you have?
How new is the pool?

Rising pH is fairly common with plaster pools ... plus a SWG ... plus your TA being a little higher than we recommend.

Just keep the pH in range and the TA should slowly drop and then the pH rise should slow down.
