Check Valve Location

Should there be a check valve after the outlet on the heat pump? Thanks

There was one there, but someone had removed the flapper in it, it was just before the chlorinator which i removed and installed swg, i better put one back in. Thanks for the help.

Without a Trichlor feeder, there should be no need for the check valve.

That's what I'm getting out of reading. You should be fine without it with the SWG. If you had the inline chlorinator then you would need it. ?

Yup. Trichlor feeders make acid water, even when pump is off, which can apparently backfeed into the heater. The SWG does not make acid water and it does not generate when the pump is off.
