Hello, forum. Our dual speed motor made a long "trying-to-start" sound (this noise started a while back, but it would eventually start. After doing a little research, we replaced the capacitor. Now, for some reason, only the high speed works. We replaced the capacitor a couple of years ago when this happened, and everything worked fine after exchanging it. Looking for next steps, please!

How do you change speeds on the pump?
Even though the original poster didn't reply, I would like to keep this thread going. I had the same thing happen. I don't know when the low speed went out, but it's been out at least since I refilled the pool in March. I am now replacing the capacitor, because the motor won't always start and when it fails it trips the breaker. All other functions seem fine. So, my question is, is losing the low speed a symptom of a capacitor going out?

That does not look like a 2 speed motor according to the data plate. It is a dual voltage motor that can run on 120V or 220V.
You sure it ever ran at 2 speeds? What did you do to change speeds?
