Can leaving air-bubble from the return cause a damage in pool plumbing system?

Hi, As the water level in my pool is just below the arrow in the skimmer (the mark I should add water), when the pump is on, the water and air go to the pump and the air bubble comes from the return jets. I am performing some kind of test, so I don't want to add water for the time being. Will it be okay to let the air circulate with water? Will it damage the pump system?

Not a good idea to run the pump with a low level. If it draws air, first thing it will do is prematurely wear the seal...fast. then a drip leak will start.

Where did you get that info please?

As long as the pump is pumping water, there will be no damage to the seal or o-rings.
