Cage cleaning advice needed

Hello,

Anyone have any advice on cleaning a pool cage?
I've only used water to clean it and that seems to work well.... I'm afraid of using any chemicals on it because I don't want to damage it or have weird chemicals ending up in the pool water.
Should I SLAM the pool prior to cleaning the cage to try to avoid the water getting gross from the "drip down"?

Cool thing is you can throw the feeder hose right into the pool and then power off the skimmer cage with pool water.

Nice..... I do have a power washer but not one like that.
What I have done is wet the beams down and then with a giant extension pole with a lambswool type window washer "wipe" everything down.
Then I rinse it all... and it all goes in the pool.
The last time I did this it took almost 2 weeks to get the pool water back to being crystal clear.

So I wonder if there is something I can do to the pool (SLAM maybe) to help counter whats going into it.
