Bubblers and loungers

We are under construction and I have to decide today (yikes) where and how many bubblers I want on my Baja shelf.
To help me decide, does anyone actually sit on their loungers with the bubblers turned on? Thanks.

Sorry I did not see this until today (Saturday). Due to the noise and splash of the bubblers I don't think many, if any, people sit by them. They are more of a "party favor" that get used to show off then shut off to enjoy the pool. Now some kids so like playing with them for a bit so they could be useful for that short while.

Sorry, I know this doesn't help your timeline. Would be curious what you chose.

Mine are on all of the time. I have 5. They are a little noisy but I like them. My deck jets are EXTREMELY noisy and I don't use those often. Usually only when kids are out playing.

Yes, for sure they are. I don't run my bubblers but about 8-10" high, so they are not terribly noisy. My wall scuppers are much louder. The deck jets are just ridiculously noisy.

Unfortunately we are close to a fairly busy road and having the bubbler going when laying on a lounger on the ledge helps drown out some of that noise and makes for a more peaceful experience. I guess it would all be personal preference and ambient noise and how many and how active your bubblers are.

I use mine to drown out my equipment noise, and while I'm 1/4 mile away from it, there is a highway that runs close and the noise can carry over. So I definitely agree with your sentiments.

Thank you kimkats, you confirmed my suspensions. Bubblers are for play, not lounging. 😁

I'm curious because I have a couple decks coming in my new build...do you have any controls to adjust how high they shoot or how smooth the water comes out?

I can adjust the height by what speed I run my VS pump, and how far I open the valve. The valve will only control so much since it is essentially an on/off valve, so the most control comes from the pump speed. I have deck jets, scuppers and waterfalls all running off of this pump, so there is a bit of a balancing act when I have all features on.

I can shoot them completely over the pool if I get the pump speed high enough. In fact, when I turn them on and the pump goes into prime mode (kicks to full speed) they will shoot out of the pool. I don't ever turn them on first, just in case the pump does go into priming mode.

You cannot control the 'smoothness' of the water. If you want the amazingly smooth streams, you want laminars, not deck jets. That's actually what I wanted, but I didn't know there was a difference. I still wouldn't run them all the time. I think they may be a little quieter than the deck jets since the pattern is so smooth but pretty sure they are noisy also.

Yes, we have 3 deck jets and they are noisy so they don't come on often. Some kids like to play with them.

Same as what others have said. We use our sheer decent waterfall and bubblers 90% of the time we are in the pool but only turn in the deck jets 10-15% of the time. The deck jets are a lot louder than then the other two.

We’re still in the somewhat build process but we have bubblers in the tanning ledge, deck jets in the concrete, and laminar led jets just outside the concrete. We use the bubbler and deck jets for maintenance. In NC it gets hot! Ever take the kids to a kiddie pool? That water gets way hotter than the big pool. So bubblers and 2 returns keep cooler water moving on the ledge. The deck jets pull there water from the drain and bring that cool water to the top, thus cooling the pool. Works great for us in the south. Laminar are just for fluff for the captain at night. Lol
