First you would need to know what the origin of the stain is from. Iron, organic, copper? Before we look into specific testing, the first place to start is by posting a full set of water test results. The best and most reliable test results used here at TFP are from either a TF-100 (link below) or Taylor K-2006C test kit. Please post a full set of results and tell us how you normally chlorinate your water and we'll go from there.
