Broken weir door causing air bubbles in jet.

Broken how? Won't open or won't close? If it is't opening and starving the skimmer of water, then yes you need to do something about it before you let the pump run again...it'll burn out the motor. You could probably just take the entire weir door off until you get a replacement. I ran my skimmer almost an entire year with no weir door before I knew better. It isn't ideal and doesn't do a very good job at skimming that way, but it's better than ruining your expensive equipment.

PJ,

If stuck up, just pull it down and put a brick on it to hold it down... If not stuck up, it is not going to cause air to get into your system..

Not an emergency either way...

Thanks,

Thanks. It’s off , broken hinge. As I said in subject, the jet has air bubbles. Can I leave it for a few days as I am off on a trip. It’s not a chlorine pool, so I need to keep the pump running. Thanks again all.

PJ,

No problem with having no weir door for a while.. I can't see how a missing weir door could possibly cause any air to get into your system..

Good luck on your trip..
