AutoPilot (Dig 220) fan question...

Hi Everyone,

Are the fans in the Dig 220 thermostatically controlled or are they always on when the unit is operating? I have a pump motor that shuts off due to thermal overload and when the pump shuts off I can hear the AutoPilot fans operating until I select "Pump -> Off" which cuts the power to the pump and also shuts the AutoPilot fans off. I generally can't hear the fans because of the noise from the pump, so I don't know if the fans running are an indication of something (like the relay) overheating in the AutoPilot, or if this is normal.

Dean,

The original units were designed so that the fan always came on whenever the unit was powered up. About 4-5 years ago, we changed the software to only energize the fan when the cells came on, and turn the fan off when the cell is off.
