I have been battling my high TA & PH every other day by MA. I’ll get it down to mid 7’s and a day or two later it’s back up to 8 or over.

We were using the untreated line well water for the evaporation top off but it was contributing to high CH so we started using the water from our well softener. That should help the rising CH but my softened well water also has the 325 Total Alkalinity, as the softener does not lower that.

Any options for lowering the alkalinity on the well water?

Softened Well Water:
PH 7.2
TA 325
Thank you!

Current Test Results from Pool:
Added a gallon of MA yesterday
FC 7
CC 0
PH yesterday 8
PH today 7.5 (after adding a gallon of acid last night)
TA 80-90
CH 450
CYA 40

You add acid to lower TA in pool water. Like you are doing.
When you have to add fill water, you will have to add acid.

@mknauss - Thank you.

I have a Pool Miser that automatically adds water that evaporates.
I used the Evaporation Estimator in the Trouble Free Pool Further Reading article and it states that based on my conditions I can lose 1/2” - 1” of water a day.

Just seems like I am fighting rising TA and PH on a daily basis and using a lot of acid due to the large pool size.

Appreciate the help
