Hi all, long time pool owner but since I retired I am trying to understand more about pool chemistry. My pool has been very easy to maintain, I keep it simple, let the pool store steer me (within reason) and the results have been very good. I run my pump 24/7 for most of the season which keeps my chemical usage low. Most years my pool is usable within 2-3 days of cover removal once I discovered a decent closing method. After posting and reading replies I will investigate salt water systems. Seems pricey at the start but will allow me time to travel. We'll see how it goes. I am also interested in solar pumps and hope to see what folks have down with them.
