another CYA test question

Hi all
So when doing the test, back facing the sun and vile at waist level, I got that part.

When looking down at the dot, should it be in sunlight or in the shade?
As in, should the CYA vile be in the sun or shade?! It makes a difference and I am not sure the best way to do it

amazing what pucks will do
i was at 20-30 PPM a little over a month ago so I used pucks while i was gone for 2 weeks and kept using as i knew my CYA was low for phoenix.
Neighbor and I kept track; as of today, have used 21 pucks! 8OZ 99% trichlor

It rained once and I back-washed twice. About time to get the 10% back out.

I love Marty's trick of just filling it to each line and seeing if you can see it.. 70, yup; 60 Yup; 50 nope... its 60! bing bing bing!

Actually it goes the other way - 70 yup, 60 yup, 50 nope, Use 60. The scale goes up from bottom to top.
