Another cloudy water post

Latest test results with Taylor kit and FAS-DPD:
FC: 6
PH: 7.6
CC:0
TA: 70
CYA:40

I “cheated” a few weeks ago and added clarifier to the pool. Pool water has been crystal clear after that. Now cloudy again. (Blue cloudy…not green cloudy)
I’m wondering if this might indicate the sand in the filter isn’t cutting it anymore? It’s probably 4-5yrs old now.
At the beginning of the season I “wash” the filter sand. (There’s a YouTube video linked somewhere on TFP that I followed)

Should I hit it with more clarifier? (or is that really cheating? Masking a bigger problem?)

As long as you were able to backwash the clarifier to waste the sand should be fine, it never goes bad. Did you ever to a true SLAM Process after opening? Cloudy water usually points to algae, and a SLAM Process can resolve that problem.
