Alternative pool lighting

Hi,
I have posted about my pool lighting in previous threads and still have not moved foward. My previous lighting system was a fiber star fiber optic unit that was installed in 1998 at the time the pool was put in. It has failed, and after exploring the option of upgrading it, or putting in LED lighting , I have decided those options are not viable for me.
I am now looking for simple lighting for infrequent use. I have considered attaching some lighting to the my small pool shed that sits within the fence perimeter. This would be similar to one of the star shower units people use during the Christmas season to illuminate the trees or homes. Has anyone tried this and had success? This is simply to use when grandkids come over and definitely not expected to be an elegant look... just some fun.
Thanks for any input!!!

Are you talking about in water or out of water lighting? Underwater or landscape lighting?

I'd suggest low voltage led landscaping lighting. I have it around my pool. I tied it in to my pool Aqualink controller as well. Easy to install. Home depot, Amazon, etc all sell systems.

Thank you for that suggestion . I never considered that option and it sounds like it would be a good option.

If you want good quality landscape lighting consider...

@Dirk has experience with it.

If any of this looks like what you're after, I'd be happy to share how it's done. All DIY. All pretty easy. And I can't say enough good things about VOLT. They're not cheap, but if you want them to work, and last, they are the best. Some of the reliability has to do with installation technique, which I'd also be happy to share.

My phone cam is not kind to my yard lighting at night. It's not quite this garish in real life...

I second Volt lighting. That's what I went with and while a little on the pricey side, the quality of the fixtures appear to be such that they should last quite a long time.

Volt light fixtures are solid brass. SOLID brass, not brass-plated steel. You might one day have to replace one of the o-rings, or the LED bulb, but the fixture itself will last longer than you will.

I just took a peek at Luxor. Nice. I would love all the zone and color options. I'd be wary of all those electronics, and wifi control, outside. But I'd be envious of all the available lighting effects, too. Three years is a decent track record.

Thank you! I have been told it’s so hard to install things like this that I’m shying away. I had fiber optic lighting, and looked into replacing that , but ultimately decided against it.

In that post I was describing a VOLT garden light, not a pool light. Though I would not be surprised if they would work underwater. The wiring is all sealed. The access to the inside is all protected by several o-rings. And everything exposed to the elements is brass. They are definitely waterproof, so unaffected by rain or sprinklers.

VOLT garden lights are easy to install.
