Algaecide...before or after draining

Hi - looking to close my pool. Wanted to know if I should add my algaecide before draining or after draining the water?

I have balanced the pool and slammed already and looking to close in 2 days. Should I add the algaecide now?

If your pool freezes solid and remains so for many months, just add chlorine manually just before final freeze up. If you time it right, it will last all winter under the ice cover.
