Air in Pump Basket

Lately (last few days} Ive noticed that there is some air in my pump return basket cover when the draw is coming from the skimmer on the wall. When I turn the valve from the wall to draw from the bottom drain to the pump the air dissipates ... Im not seeing any water loss or leakage.

Any help in this would be very appreciated.

Check the weir door in your skimmer and your skimmer water level.

As already said, check your water level and your weir door.....sounds like you are sucking air in through the skimmer.
