This is a follow up to This thread.
I recently noticed a small leak between the motor and the pump so I decided to replace the seals with a go kit. Turned out that the impeller was messed up where the eye seal goes on, meaning I needed a new impeller. Well it turned out that nobody had that impeller and prospects for getting one were slim. So had a new pump installed and, bingo, no air at all.
