Air in pump and filter

I am looking for help - I am getting air in the system somewhere and can hear that the pump is louder than in the past, maybe some cavitation…. I can see some air bubbles at the top of the lid on the pump and over time a significant amount of air builds up in the cartridge filter - i just put in a doheny 150 cartridge filter. Any ideas?

Did you use pool lube on the pump lid gasket and any suction side union o-rings?

Thanks - I did not and should have. I think after reading several posts I must have a small leak somewhere on the suction side. I did not realize such a small leak could cause such an issue…. I just re-plumbed everything and put down a new pad, just need to finish it off now..
