AGP, pool store recommended Maytronics S line, which to choose

I can’t really tell the difference based on specs, ie not knowing what is important, worth paying for. Pool stores says all are appropriate for our AGPs and they’ve been trustworthy, but still I’m nervous about the stories about micropunctures in the liner.

The options are:
S50
S100
S200
S300
S400

They recommended either the S100 $899 or S300 $1399. I’m sure you can buy them a little cheaper online.

Anyway - the difference seems to be that the S300 is ”up to a 50 ft pool size”, cleaning cycle in 1/2 hour instead of 2 hour, has an ultra fine basket, has a brush + active scrubber, and will clean waterline in addition to floors and walls (our walls basically never need cleaning if the chlorine is kept correct). It uses a “powerstream” instead of “CleverCLean” drive system, is compatible with the wifi app and is remote controllable, includes the caddy, and has a ‘tangle free cable”.

It sounds like from a practical standpoint - the stuff that matters - I’m paying $500 for app access. What I really want is something that will work like a Toyota, be super reliable and trouble free and no hassle, and won’t ruin my pool.

Are these the right way to go? Other options? Any thoughts?

The s50 & e10 are the same robot- there are a few other flavors of those (1 brush versions)
I have an above ground & just got a nautilus cc - it is basically an e-10 /s50 with extra attributes. It has 1 brush but a longer cord & scheduling as well as automation mode. It climbs the wall & hovers at the waterline but doesn’t travel sideways once there (which isn’t really a necessity for me)
You can go on poolpartz.com & compare the models & their features. The S line is for b&m dealers.
there are equivalents of each version of those in other branded models like doheny & pentair as well as internet models like e-10. They are all made by maytronics. Its like mattress shopping lol 😂

that website has an e10 for AGPs , refurbished, under $500. no caddy or cover. it won’t clean my walls but we’ve never needed that as long as we keep our chemistry dialed in. for an AGP do you find the side cleaning worthwhile?

any hesitation about a refurbished like the one i’m describing? i really thought we would be spending $1000-$1500 so this is a pleasant surprise.

Many s50/e10 owners report that they climb the walls although its not an advertised feature.
You can add the caddy & cover separately. They all use the same one i think. You can also purchase the fine filter basket separately. Be sure to get the one that fits your model.
All the refurbished models from them (pp) come with a 1 yr warranty from maytronics. I had a pleasant purchasing experience w/ them. There site was extremely helpful w/ its comparison tool as I researched the different varieties & their specifications over the course of the last year.
The s50 bought new at a retail location comes with a 2 year warranty. The e-10 (e stands for internet line) bought new has a 1 yr.
Some of the fancier models have longer warranties (3yr) when purchased at a retail/ b&m.
Marina pools & spas in Colorado sells several types of dolphins that retain full warranty as they only do phone & in person sales. They can also help u get the robot w/ the features that are important to you without paying for things u don’t need.
I tried to get ahold of them before my purchase as they showed the nautilus cc on their site but they didn’t get back with me & i needed to open my pool.
I am very happy w/ the nautilus cc - it was the only model i found that only had one brush but came with a 50ft cord & automation mode as well as a weekly timer. The next one up w/ those attributes was the quantum, s200, or pentair warrior se but those all have 2 brushes & cost more $$ than i had budgeted.
I used a visa to purchase & it has extended warranty protection for another year when the manufacturer warranty runs out. (Even on manufacturer refurbished- i checked) So I figure i’m covered just like I would be with a new one.

My robot arrived and I bought the ultra fine filter, bit it came with no instructions for programming. I cannot find any instructions online and the link poolpartz sent me is for all the intuitive stuff, like... plugging in, changing the filters out, and so on. How do I actually make the Dang thing work?!?

Nautilus CC, but the power unit has a number of buttons on the front including something that looks like a Bluetooth or cell phone
The power units are for several different models. Your unit is basic. So press the big button to turn it on/off. You can also select to run it every day, every other day, etc. That is all your unit will do.

When I press the big button, it does not run. It lights up and the tracks turn for A few minutes then stop. Meanwhile the other lights are lit up and i can press various buttons and make the lights move but no idea what they are for. I have no idea what to do, it's very frustrating. Is there not an instruction manual in existence for this?

I was finally able to reach someone at poolpartz. They explained that for this model I can ignore the second and third small button from the left. The only buttons I need are the big button; and the second button is a timer/schedule button that lets me set every day, other day, or third day. If I have all those lights lit it should run.

The manuals really don’t get into nitty gritty of programming but the above info was helpful.

So then the question of why it doesn’t operate. I cleaned the impeller which had nothing in it; they advised check the tracks, which were clean; and I cleaned the filter baskets. But I think the device has to be in the water before turning the power on or it will not continue to operate. If you turn the power on, then drop into the pool, it doesn’t seem to keep going. This was not evident from the instructions. Once I turned everything off, placed the robot in the pool and let it sink to the bottom, then turned it back on, it seems to be running.

Sorry - i was away for a bit. All that apply are the power & 1,2,3 buttons
1= every day for a week
2= every other day for a week
3= every 3rd day for a week
After the week is done you must reset the timer
If you want it to run on a schedule indefinitely you must use a smart plug & automation mode. There are several threads on getting that going if u are interested.

& Yes- Bot definitely needs to be in water to function after the self test or else it just turns off. CE5FE53B-24AF-4909-BDB2-6A9DDC0BB414.jpeg
