Advice on Coping Repairs

Hello, probably a simple question but I'm curious what product I should use to smooth out my worn down coping. The pool is about 20 years old and there are several areas along the coping where the aggregate is now coming through. Should I just slap some mortar mix on there, or maybe spec mix, or something from a tube?

Just slapping cement on top won’t really work and it’s going to spall off pretty quickly. The only topcoat treatment you could do that would have any longevity would be to do an acrylic overlay like KoolKote. Short of redoing the deck, anything you apply isn’t going to last and will likely look really ugly.

Nothing will last long on crumbling concrete.

You can try slapping something on it but I think it will only look worse in time.
