Adding Liquid Chlorine throughout the winter?

My pool has been dormant and covered since Sept and with the winter thaw beginning up here in New England, does it make sense to pull the cover back and throw a bunch of liquid chlorine in it? With the pumps disconnected there is no way to circulate it, so I thinking its a waste? Any thoughts?

I know you already received a great reply, I want to add:
A number of years ago, I added liquid chlorine in March, per recommendation by the pool store guy.
It bleached the liner because I had no way to circulate it.
Bad advice. Glad you're not adding any in now.

I didn't add any and just kept it covered. It had a little bit of algae on the sides but wasn't some green cesspool. Cleared up quickly when I opened it up this week.
