Active 20 issue

I purchased the Marina Active 20 Robot cleaner this year for my new FG pool. It does a good job picking up small stuff, but when it comes to fallen leaves in the pool... it just seems to blow them out through the bottom instead of sucking them to the basket.
Does anyone here have this issue? Or any suggestions on why my robot is doing this.
I have tried cleaning out the baskets, thinking that's the issue. But it goes back to not picking up the leaves.

Mine picks up leaves without issue. They are typically small leaves from desert trees.

Check the flapper in the bottom of the basket.

These are leaves from a Sweet Gum tree my neighbor has and they fall into my pool. Size of the leaves are around 2 inches or so.
I will check the flapper as you have mentioned.
