In the process of going over my freeze/power outage plan.

Pool is open during winter so objective is to avoid any draining.

Have all the equipment to blow out the lines, one way plugs, main drain foam rope, and skimmer inlet cover to block water.

Problem- I overlooked the fact that on one side of the pool I can't reach over the edge and access the return jets due to stone wall. Any creative solutions to reaching those jets without getting in the freezing pool?

You can pump out water to get the water level below the returns. Then blow out the lines and you don’t need to plug them.

It just costs you some water and chemicals.

Yes, lowering the water is the simplest solution but the problem I'm attempting to solve is centered around not lowering the water. However, I suspect my only options will end up being, get in the water or lower the water. If so, I'm not doing a polar plunge so lowering it is.

Build an extension tool with pvc 🤷‍♀️
Or ride a float /boat ? 🤣
“Hunny, I need this inflatable boat for pool maintenance!”
I had thought of the pole but operating a pair of Channellocks seems nearly impossible. The boat seems reasonable. My only other idea was standing a ladder in the pool against the rock wall and running a 2x12 from the pool edge to a step on the ladder. I could just lower the water and avoid all this nonsense, but thats no fun.
