PH High, CYA Low...Good time for Trichlor?

Trichlor does raise CYA and lower pH, so not a bad idea on the face of it.

However, is there some immediate issue with your pool that you are trying to address (something beyond CYA levels and pH)?

What is your CYA level, and how was it measured (i.e. test kit, pool store results, etc.)? If your CYA is really low, you will have trouble maintaining adequate free chlorine levels, especially if there is a lot of strong sun on the pool, which seems likely in Texas in July. Trichlor is not a very speedy way to add CYA...
