having a terrible time opening the pool this year...actually ever since purchasing the DE6020, it's been horrible opening the pool. now the pool guy is telling us all the grids need to be replaced b/c they are stretched out. The filter is only two years old. We replaced three grids last year b/c of tears. Is this really possible that we need to replace every one of the grids for a two year old filter??

While it's possible that you would need to replace them, it's highly unlikely. I wouldn't worry about them being stretched out. If they don't have tears in them they should be fine. As long as the frames aren't warped to where they don't seal on the manifold, I wouldn't replace them.
