Pentair IntellifloVS Pump with Error Messages- DISPLAY Not Active

I have a recently installed Pentair Intelliflo VS pump that keeps giving my the same error message over and over. "DISPLAY Not Active!" I get the message as I'm trying to make adjustments to the speed or really making any changes. It will popup in the middle of making a change and I'll have to start over.
Very Frustrating. Is this normal or a defect?

Sounds like you are hooked into automation. If so, speed are adjusted within your programming.

Yes, when the pump data cable is connected to automation then the display/control is disabled on the pump and you need to change pump settings from within the automation menus. Easytouch, Solartouch, etc.
