Leveling the ground (tarp?)

We decided to dig down a good 6" and remove all the grass and then fill with sand. It looks good and we are almost done with final leveling.

My question is - do you put a tarp over the sand? Or just put the pool right on the leveled sand?

Please keep in mind this pool is small (13x39) and only staying up for 2 months.

I recommend putting a tarp over the sand. It helps protect the bottom of the pool better than just having sand.

It protects the bottom of the liner better than just having sand there. It can prevent grass from coming through the sand and growing into the liner as well as keep any small critters who dig underground and up to the bottom of pool.

I cant seem to find a tarp for a round 22', any recommendation the one that came is bad quality.

Can you tape 2 tarps together and cut it to size? its the only way i can think of doing it from buying from a local store

We usually buy tarps at Home Depot. Yes you can tape them together.

I prefer the thicker ones. We have gophers and Bermuda grass that like to try to get through. Our first AGP gophers did make it through.
