My husband and I are looking into above ground pools for our acreage. We have well water with a high mineral content but safe to swim in and drink. We have never had a pool before. And are fairly clueless, hence why I have signed up.

Glad to have you with us. If you haven’t done so already, take a moment to read some of our most common and vital links (below in my sig) to keep you ahead of the game with clear water. Also, make sure you have one of the recommended test kits (i.e. TF-100 below) as well. Actually in your area, you would need to order the Taylor K-2006. It is an absolute “must” to obtain the proper chemical readings before you can treat your pool.
Well water brings iron, but we have posts on that subject to assist you. But without a doubt, the test kit should be priority #1. Welcome to TFP, and have a great weekend.
