Leak- How to fix?

Hi,
We have a leak in our pool. We have determined it is with the pump running. There is water coming out the backwash hose, even though it is in the filter position. Is this a valve we can change ourselves? How to do it?

Welcome to TFP!!!

Sounds like that spider gasket in the backwash valve is leaking. You should be able to replace it. Take the screws out and open it up and take a look.

You could add a plug / valve on the backwash pipe as a backup.
