Percent output question

quick question.
So today I am toggling thru the system status menu on my circupool si60, I have no cell current or instant salinity reading, all zeros. I look in the troubleshooting guide, posted below. I then call tech support, the person I speak to, said it runs on a 2 hour cycle, meaning if you set it at 50% then it only runs 1 hour, and the other hour is the rest period when you get the zeros.


So my question is, is this the way all SWCG work?
I was thinking that if you set it to 25%, it made chlorine the whole time the pump was running, but at a reduced rate.

Pretty much all of them work the way you just described, although the time periods may be different.

Some of the cheaper units like Intex just generate as long as they are on with no % control.

Dang, that was quick. I was just coming back after reading pool school again. That is what it says.
