. Actually, rain has very little effect on pool chemistry unless the pool overfills and/or has a significant turnover of water. If your water is cloudy, it is possible you are seeing the start of an algae bloom. Suggest you do an overnight chlorine loss test (OCLT) to see if you're losing more than 1 ppm FC in the dark hours. If so, or if your CC reading is more than .5 ppm, implement a SLAM. Link below.

We recommend either the TF-100 or Taylor K2006. Both can be ordered via the TF-100 link below. They are the only kits that have the ability to accurately measure FC (free chlorine) and CC (combined chlorine) at very accurate and high levels needed to match-up to your CYA level as noted on the Chlorine/CYA Chart (link below). That's a key thing many pool owners don't realize. The TF-100 test kit is a very good purchase. Ask for the Speed Stir to have that ability to stir like the pros. It's great!
