Palm Tree - New Filter and Pump Question

My Hayward pool pump won't completely prime. I hear water moving at the top of the filter. I can't find any leaks. Any ideas?

Almost surely, You have a suction side air leak. Somewhere between the pump and the skimmer(s), air is being sucked into the system. Find that leak and your issues will be solved. There is an article in Pool School that may be beneficial.....see if that gives you some clues.

Thank you for the reply. i noticed some leaking from around the hose connected to the pump but that stopped. I now notice some leaking up and over where the hose connects to the skimmer . Is the leak at the skimmer or the drain plug on the front of the pump?

Yes, the skimmer is on the suction side of the pump. Drain plug in the leaf basket? Yes, also suction side. Both are good candidates for a suction side leak.
