Intellichlor 40 doesn't seem to be making headway.

Second year with the intellichlor 40.

Last week:
TC=1, CC=0
CYA =55
Ph=7.8

Cranked it up to 100%, run the pool from 9-5, added a bottle of bleach for good measure.

Today
TC=1, CC=0
CYA =55
Ph=7.8
Salt = 3200ppm

So I added 3 cups of CYA to get the CYA to nearer 70.


I am wondering if when the chlorine is low, the intellichlor, has trouble making headway. Last summer I was able to maintain good chlorine levels at lower run times for most of the summer.

Currently, I've cranked the intellichlor to boost mode - 100% and set the pump speed up and to run for 24 hours. I'll test again tomorrow.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

This is a recurring theme this year. Odds are great that algae or organic matter is consuming your chlorine. Turn off the SWG, add enough bleach to get FC up to 10 and Perform the Overnight FC Loss Test (OCLT)

OK - I'll check to see what it looks like tomorrow after running flat out for 24 hours - and then I'll do an OCLT.
