Does anyone here run their backwash hose to a French Drain? I was curious if that was OK to do and if there are any problems associated with doing that.

It's fine to do as long as local codes don't require used DE to be reclaimed (DE is a carcinogen and some localities won't let you dump it into a sewer or even on your own property 
) Just check to make sure that you can legally dump it on your own land.
